Paris Fashion Week was a blast. Not only because of the shows, the beautiful collections and the events – also because I got to spend lots of time with my favorite high jewelry brand and the minds behind it. Of course I’m talking about Messika and the lovely Valérie Messika, who invited me to discover the Messika universe. We spend a whole day together chatting over coffee and pastries, seeing and trying the most beautiful pieces and collections and diving deep into the art of diamond sourcing and cutting.

I was absolutely blown away but the precious pieces and their fineness. Messika carries many different collections from jewelry to fine jewelry to wedding rings. One of my favorite collections is MessikabyGigiHadid which includes unique pieces inspired by safety pins, which I absolutely love.

The diamond training was beyond exciting for me because I am so in love with precious high jewelry and really want to understand deeply what indicates the diamonds‘ quality, how to differentiate them and the tremendous amount of craftsmanship that is necessary to create them.

When you hear all about how the diamonds are cut, how difficult it is to create the perfect stone for a jewel and also how much work needs to be put into every single piece of jewelry that I saw, I got very curious where and how all of this is done. So Valérie was so kind to invite me into the sacred halls of the Messika Atelier which is right in the heart of Paris.

Entering the atelier, we saw many workers who were deftly and neatly grinding, cutting and assembling pieces of the precious jewels. The highly concentrated and calm athmosphere was infectious and we carefully and quietly watched their skillfull moves. I even saw some of the just released pieces from Art Basel that were still in the making! Pictures can never show the astonishing beauty of precious diamonds but I still want to share my excitement about these pieces with you. I fell in love right there in the atelier and didn’t want to take it off anymore.

It was so interesting and wonderful to explore the Messika universe and I am very pleased that brands like this that emphasize extraordinary quality, craftsmanship and timeless elegance are still out there. I hope you enjoyed this quick journey into the Messika universe and I cannot wait to share more Messika moments with you soon.
